How Scoring Works

Rare answers score more: six tiers from Plankton (10 points) to One in a Krillion (100 points).

Every answer you give is ranked against what all other players answered. The most common answers land in Plankton at 10 points; answers almost nobody gave hit One in a Krillion at 100 points. Your seven answers add up to 700 points max, converted to depth at 10 meters per point — a perfect dive reaches 7,000 meters.

The full mechanics — what moves answers between tiers, the too-clever trap, and worked examples — live in our krillion scoring guide. If you are new, learn how to play first.

Today’s Dive

Seven fresh prompts drop every day at midnight ET — free to play, no account needed.

Today’s dive is live above: 7 prompts, 25 seconds each, drawn from a 302-prompt bank across 8 categories — geography, food, movies, sports, music, science, animals, and history. Type the rarest correct answer you can think of for each — depth is points × 10 meters, and the reset hits at midnight Eastern.

Want an edge before you play? The strategy hub breaks down nine ways to find rare answers, and Krillion Unlimited practice mode lets you drill past prompts with zero pressure. Yesterday’s answers are in the archive.

Why Play Krillion Daily

A 5-minute brain workout that rewards creative thinking — not trivia memorization.

Most trivia games reward whoever memorized the most facts. Krillion Daily flips that: the obvious answer — the one everyone types — scores the least. To win this krillion game you need lateral thinking, not a photographic memory. That is why players describe it as a workout for creativity rather than recall.

Each dive takes about five minutes: seven prompts, twenty-five seconds each. You will catch yourself thinking about prompts hours later — “what was a rarer answer for that one?” That stickiness is the point. Come back tomorrow; the streak system rewards consecutive days, and the answers archive lets you study what the crowd actually answered.

Krillion Unlimited Practice Mode

Drill past prompts with no timer and no pressure — free, no account needed.

Krillion Unlimited is the training ground for the daily dive. Same prompts, same scoring tiers — but no 25-second timer and no one-day-only pressure. Work through the full 302-prompt bank across all 8 categories at your own pace, and watch your instincts sharpen.

Use it to test theories: does a specific-but-obscure answer beat a clever-but-common one? The scoring guide explains the tiers; Krillion Unlimited lets you feel them. When you are ready, the daily dive is waiting — start practicing.

Krillion Game Tips for New Players

Three habits that separate 200-point dives from 500-point dives.

First, ban your first instinct. Whatever pops into your head first is what pops into everyone’s head first — that is Plankton territory at 10 points. Force yourself to a second and third answer before committing.

Second, go specific, not clever. “Paris” loses to “Lyon”; “Titanic” loses to a film half the players have not seen. Specificity beats wit in this krillion game almost every time.

Third, study the archive. The answers archive shows exactly where the crowd clusters. Ten minutes of review teaches you more than ten days of guessing. For the full playbook, read our strategy hub.

Where Does the Word “Krillion” Come From?

A play on “one in a million” — mixed with krill, the tiny ocean crustacean.

Krillion is a pun on the phrase “one in a million.” The rarest tier in the game — One in a Krillion — is awarded to answers so obscure that practically nobody else gave them. The name swaps “million” for “krillion,” nodding to krill: the tiny shrimp-like crustaceans that swim in vast schools across the ocean.

The ocean theme runs through the whole game. Your score becomes diving depth, measured in meters. Common answers keep you floating near the surface with the plankton; rare answers send you plunging past the krill schools into the deep. It is a neat metaphor — in the ocean and in trivia, the interesting stuff lives far below the surface.

How Deep Can You Go? Ocean Zones

Your score maps to real ocean depth zones — from sunlit surface to the hadal trench.

Every point you score converts to 10 meters of depth, and a perfect 700-point dive reaches 7,000 meters — deeper than most of the real ocean. On the way down you pass through the same zones oceanographers use: the sunlight zone near the surface, the twilight zone where light fades, the midnight zone of permanent darkness, and the abyssal zone below 4,000 meters.

The deepest real-world point, the Challenger Deep in the Mariana Trench, sits at about 10,935 meters. No Krillion dive reaches that far — but the metaphor holds. The deeper your answers, the further you leave the crowd behind. Check the scoring guide to see exactly how each tier maps to depth.

Quick Answers

How do I play Krillion Daily?

What Is the Krillion Game?

Krillion is a free daily trivia game that flips traditional quizzes upside down. Instead of rewarding the most obvious answer, Krillion rewards the rarest one. Each day brings 7 fresh prompts — and for every prompt, you have just 25 seconds to type an answer that as few other players as possible will think of.

The scoring is simple but addictive: the rarer your answer, the deeper you dive and the more points you earn. Give the most common answer and you will barely leave the surface. Think of something truly obscure — a forgotten capital, a little-known movie, an underrated athlete — and you will plunge into the abyss with a massive score.

Dive Krillion is the ultimate companion for Krillion players. Play the daily dive, practice with unlimited prompts, train your rarity instincts, and challenge friends — all free, no sign-up needed to start. Whether you call it Krillion, the Krillion game, or the daily Krillion, this is your home base for thinking rarer every single day.
